DSI/NASA Oblique Wing RPV
The DSI/NASA Oblique Wing RPV is an experimental unmanned aircraft developed for NASA with an oblique wing configuration. The NASA Flight Research Center tested the aircraft during the late 1970s, in order to compile inflight data of this configuration. The official report submitted at the termination of the project listed "the unpleasant flying characteristics... at extreme wing-sweep angles () may have discouraged aircraft designers from adopting this configuration."〔(NASA photo )〕
The aircraft is on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
The craft is currently on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
